VapothermŽ Announces Validation of U.S. Patent For Adapter For Humidification System
February 2, 2010, Stevensville, MD. Vapotherm, Inc., the global leader in High Flow Oxygen Therapy products, announced today that U.S. patent rights have been validated for an adapter that allows any pre-packaged sterile water bags to be used with the Vapotherm 2000i. The U.S. Patent No.7,654,507 B2 provides Vapotherm the right to prevent or exclude other companies from making, using, selling, or offering to sell or import the invention.
"Our Water Spike System (VSS-1) is a unique adapter that allows any pre-packaged sterile water bag with a standard spike port to be connected to the water inlet port of the Vapotherm 2000i. It has a clear chamber giving visual confirmation of air venting through a hydrophobic membrane that allows air to vent from the water circulation while isolating the water from external contaminants during start up and normal operating condition of the Vapotherm 2000i system", said George McGarrity, Sr. Product Development Engineer at Vapotherm.
